The Heartland Chapter of PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) thought outside-the-box of a luncheon at the 21c Museum Hotel followed by breakout sessions that took place throughout downtown Bentonville, said Cheri Jones, CMP, meeting manager for Vista Productions Inc.

“By creating the breakouts in their way, we were able to showcase local venues and make planners consider using this approach for their next meeting. That evening attendees were able to walk (or drive) to Crystal Brides where the temporary exhibition American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell was featured. Friday morning focused on a speed networking event, a city tour and then ended with a luncheon at Bentonville’s award winning food trucks. Ending this event at these food trucks was another way to show the attendees how truly unique Bentonville is as well as challenge meeting planners to go above and beyond to showcase the city they hold meetings within!”

Northwest Arkansas is still unknown to many, Jones said. “The Thursday evening reception was located at Crystal Bridges’ Friday we took a bus tour of the area and showed off the area, including Jackson House, Peel Mansion, Peel Compton Gardens, Embassy Suites Convention Center, Avondale, Doubletree Suites by Hilton, Pinnacle Promenade Mall, Walmart Headquarters and many of our other local hotels and restaurants.”
